Yarrow has been used for centuries, all throughout history. It is a common wildflower is native to Europe, Asia, and North America.
Yarrow is a diaphoretic herb, which means it promotes perspiration; so it isn’t a shock that one of its most common uses is to support a fever, helping it to break naturally. Yarrow also has anti-inflammtory, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial properties (Sources 1, 2, 5). Yarrow is also commonly used to soothe irritated skin, aches, and pains. One study shows it quite effective at relieving menstrual cramps (Source 3)!
Fun Fact : This plant’s ability to stem bleeding made Yarrow a go-to tool used for treating war injuries all the way back in ancient times!
